Loretta J. Bradley
Loretta Bradley earned her Ph.D. at Purdue University . She is a Paul Whitfield Horn Professor of Counselor Education and Coordinator, Counselor Education. Prior to her affiliation with Texas Tech University , she was an Associate Professor of Human Development Counseling at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and an Assistant Dean, College of Education at Temple University . Dr. Bradley is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and an approved LPC supervisor and a LMFT supervisor. Dr. Bradley has served as a member of the Editorial Boards of the American Counselor (Chair), Journal of Counseling and Development , Journal of Humanistic Education and Development, and Counseling and Human Development .
Dr. Bradley is a past President of the American Counseling Association (ACA) (1998 - 1999) and a Past-President of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) (1995 - 1996). Dr. Bradley has been the recipient of the following awards/honors: Paul Whitfield Horn Professor (endowed professorship), President's Academic Achievement Award, Counselor Educator of the Year (TACES Award), Participant Salzburg, Seminar in Salzburg Austria, Fellow of the Salzburg Institute, President's Excellence in Teaching Award, COE Nominee for Bamey Rushing, Jr. Research Award, Texas Tech University nominee for Leadership Texas, COE Nominee for President's Achievement Award, COE Nominee for the Barney E. Rushing, Jr. Research Award. Dr. Bradley received the ACES Publication Award for her book, Counselor Supervision: Principles. Process and Practice, and she was the co-recipient of the American Counseling Association's Research Award and the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy’s Research Award. Dr. Bradley received the SACES Individual Achievement Award and the 1985 ACES Research Award. Dr. Bradley is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, Texas), and approved LPC supervisor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, Texas ), and approved LMFT supervisor, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a National Certified Career Counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors. Dr. Bradley holds certification as a School Counselor (K-12) and secondary teacher. Dr. Bradley is an LPC in Texas and has a small private practice.
Dr. Bradley enjoys traveling, collecting antiques, reading popular books, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
